Suzanne Halvorson

Suzanne Halvorson holds a Bachelor of Science in Fine Arts (BSFA) from Valpariaso University. She has been a studio textile artist in Bloomington, IN since the late 1970’s. Suzanne is co-owner and charter member of By Hand Gallery. She is an Adjunct Professor of Fine Arts at the Eskinazi School of Art, Architecture, + Design at Indiana University. Suzanne has taught weaving at Earlham College and Purdue University. She has taught weaving workshops at Penland School of Craft (NC); HGA’s Convergence (CA); and teaches annually at Ghost Ranch (NM) and the Grunewald Guild (WA). Her work is published in ‘Handwoven’, HGA’s ‘Shuttle, Spindle, and Dyepot’; and ‘Weaving for Worship’> Her work is represented at By Hand Gallery. Suzanne has been an annual instructor at the Grunewald Guild since 1986 and co-taught with founder Liz Caemmerer for several decades until her passing in 2021.
