Mary McLeod

Mary McLoed has a Masters of Education degree, with a specialization in iIntegrated Arts from Lesley University. She studied calligraphy with master calligraphers Lloyd Reynolds, Carole DuBosch, and Reggie Etzell. She taught art and music in public schools for thirty years. For 22 years, she has been a teacher in the summer program at the Grunewald Guild. She began as s calligraphy teacher and now teach the construction of journals with watercolor and mixed media surface techniques. For her, Calligraphy is an important element in these journals, and she encourages students to add the beauty of lettering to their journal. Students taking her class will find it is the journey, the process of creating, that is important, not a finished product.

Students will make a journal and fill it with surface techniques such as collage, gel print, sumi sink art, use if various inks, and a bit of Japanese Sashiko.
