John Thompson

John received his degree in Fine Arts from the University of North Dakota, were intaglio (etching) and drawing were his foundations. Asked to design the ponies for the Carousel for Missoula, his work with the carousel became a transitional point into carving and sculpting. John is serious about art but his art is full of humor. His work runs from dragons to skateboarding birds to rocking critters for children to ride. When he is not in the studio, he is presenting at symposiums or teaching workshops or he may be traveling to visit quarries, ancient monasteries, and cathedrals.

More information about John and his work can be found on his website and on his Facebook page.
