Jim Halvorson

James “Jim” M. Halvorson has been a potter for nearly 50 years and was  initially introduced to the ceramic art while a student at Valparaiso University. Jim received his MFA from Rochester Institute of Technology where he studied with Bauhaus trained potter Frans Wildenhain. Moving to Bloomington Indiana. with wife & master weaver Suzanne, they established studios producing their respective artwork. In 1990 Jim achieved his teachers certification and taught ceramics in addition to other art classes in the Indianapolis Public School system. Having retired from the classroom Jim has returned to his primary pursuit of studio pottery.
