This course is part of a weekend workshop, beginning on Friday, February 20th and ending on Sunday, February 22nd. Class sessions take place on Saturday from 9:30-12:30, and 2-5pm., with additional programming on Friday and Sunday.

This is a perfect opportunity to get one-on-one instruction from Potter Mike Caemmerer as you tackle your next, or maybe first, experience on the wheel.  Come with one or multiple things in mind that you would like help with on the wheel, and then spend the weekend working to meet your own goals. All things are possible, such as: throwing taller/larger, lidded forms, double-walled pots, handles, pitchers, or even large multi-section forms. And if you’re brand new to wheel throwing, that is fine too!  Demos and hands-on instruction will occur throughout the day.

What will class time be like?  This course will consist of 2 class sessions on Saturday, 9:30am-12:30 and 2-5pm.

Will I need to work outside of class?  The hope is for students to participate 9-5 Saturday, excluding a lunch break.

What can I expect to create?  Local students are welcome to continue working on pieces created in this session, provided they are signed up as Open Studio participants. This course is for skill-building. One day will not be enough time for finished work.

Do I need experience to take this class?  Nope! Come and learn wherever you are in your pottery journey.

What do I need to bring to class?  Aprons are provided, but come dressed to get muddy. You are welcome to bring your own tools, but please be sure they are marked as yours prior to bringing them into the studio.
