This weaving course will offer students of all skill levels the opportunity to learn to weave or expand their skills using floor looms. Instructors Nancy and Suzanne have more than a century of weaving and teaching experience between them. The instructors will provide two projects to choose from their catalog of weave structures. The focus will be on weaving cloth using techniques that will match the skill level and interests of the participants. Students can choose colors from the vast library of yarn available at the Guild. Beginners Welcome.
The objective of this course is for students of all skill levels (beginning to intermediate) to learn about designing handwoven patterns, loom dressing, and weaving. Participants will create a finished piece executed on manual powered floor looms, under the guidance of Nancy Marsh and Suzanne Halvorson, with decades of weaving and teaching experience.
This course is designed to introduce both beginning and intermediate weavers to weaving on a floor loom without fear. Our objective is to teach in a way that is broken down into small steps focusing on design, winding warps, dressing looms, and weaving a project. Each student will create a scarf, table runner, or wall hanging, based on their individual skill level and interests.
