The Red Thread: the Journey through the Labyrinth
With Elijah Turrell
October 10 - 12, 2025

A Weekend Journey
Labyrinths have been part of the human experience for thousands of years across all cultures. They are maps which can guide us, both spiritually and physically, to a greater understanding of who we are as humans. In this workshop we will use a ruler and compass to draw these simple, yet profound, designs from all over the world.
Over the course of the weekend, students will learn to understand the historical ideas of the labyrinth, how to draw labyrinths from ancient and medieval cultures, and how to construct original labyrinths. Through practical demonstrations and hands-on learning, we will construct labyrinths from Crete, France, and contemporary designs.
