Summer Week 7 | Attuned Movement: Listening to Our Bodies & Environments

July 26 - August 1, 2026
This program is part of our Summer Program, beginning on Sunday (July 26) and ending on Saturday (August 1). Class runs Monday morning through Friday morning, with additional programming on Sunday and Saturday.
The objective of this course is to share methods for accessing the body as a creative entity, with a focus on three key areas of practice: listening to our own bodies, listening to the bodies of others, and listening to our environments. We will work toward this objective by introducing a range of movement practices drawn from Angela and Kaia’s diverse backgrounds in contemporary dance and performance art. These practices come from multiple lineages and center on exercises that support deep listening and relating. In addition, tools will be introduced for structuring improvisation and engaging in site-responsive live performance. This course is designed for artists of all disciplines and offers embodied and place-based practices that can enrich creative processes across fields.
