When a story is told, it drifts through the ether, seeking a place to settle. Story Bowls offer a container to hold those memories, keeping them safe until they are fondly, nostalgically, or reflectively brought back to life. Each time you pass by or use the bowl, you’ll be reminded of the stories shared in its presence, preserving the memories you hold dear.

Join artist Mike Caemmerer from Tall Tree Ceramics in creating your own Story Bowl in this three day workshop!

Friday Night: Wheel Throwing session —“Creating the Vessel.”

Saturday Morning: Trimming and Writing.

Saturday afternoon: Writing into Your Bowl

Sunday Morning: Celebrating the Process

Your pieces will be completed by Saturday night.  If you choose to come back to glaze them, we will let them dry slowly. They will then undergo bisque firing two weeks after the workshop. Once this process is complete, you’ll be invited back at your convenience to finish and glaze your pieces. All materials are included in your course fee. If you choose to come back to glaze your piece, an additional $10 kiln fee will be charged per piece.

Participants should be comfortable centering and throwing a minimum of three pounds of clay on the wheel. Being a little rusty is fine.
