Workshop | Experiential Drawing: Start Where You Are
With Adele Caemmerer
February 20 - 22, 2026
This course is part of a weekend workshop, beginning on Friday, February 20th and ending on Sunday, February 22nd. Class sessions take place on Saturday from 9:30-12:30, and 2-5pm., with additional programming on Friday and Sunday.
Join sage artist and drawing extraordinaire, Adele Little Caemmerer, wherever you are in your drawing practice, for a playful and meaningful introduction to drawing. Adele’s classes are vibrant community spaces guaranteed to inspire and rejuvenate your heart and soul.
This drawing class is an invitation to slow down, notice, and begin again. Designed for beginners and those looking to re-enter into their practice, the course approaches drawing as a meditative and grounding practice rather than a technical pursuit. Through simple, guided exercises, students will cultivate observation, eye-to-hand coordination, and attentive looking—learning to document what they see with care, curiosity, and expression. Emphasis is placed on process over outcome, creating a supportive environment where drawing becomes a way to settle into the present moment and reconnect with the world around you. No prior experience is needed—only a willingness to begin where you are.
What will class time be like? Students will develop their observation skills and eye-to-hand coordination through a series of exercises intended to tap into their capacity to document what they see with sensitivity and expression.
Will I need to work outside of class? Participants should be able to finish their projects during the class sessions.
What can I expect to create? Participants will be given time and support to develop one or more drawings based on a focus of their choice. We will explore a series of exercises to attune eyes and hands to the act of drawing, as well as to our materials and subject matter
Do I need experience to take this class? Beginners welcome, as are experienced folks.
What do I need to bring to class? Bring appropriate clothing and footwear for comfort and warmth, depending on the weather. We might go outside as part of the class. All essential materials will be provided for the class. Bring any favorite sketchbooks, pens/pencils, or any other drawing materials.
