Whether we are mindful of it or not, composition is elemental to art-making.

This holds true across genres: composition is as essential to abstraction as it is to realism. In this class we will actively create composition in the context of acrylic mixed-media and collage.

Scott will talk about our approach, offer prompts for journaling, and demonstrate techniques. We will have time for sharing and interaction, as well as plenty of space for art-making.

What will we make in class? One primary surface and several smaller (perhaps experimental) pieces.

This class is part of our Spring Sacred Arts week, facilitated by Scott Burnett and Laurie Rudel. Springtime at the Grunewald Guild is a season of gentle stirring, inside and out. Creation and creativity awaken to familiar, yet always surprising, newness. Spring Sacred Arts Week is designed and refined with these rhythms and stirrings in mind.
