Join us for a contemplative and creative journey into the sacred tradition of iconography. In this hands-on class, students will learn the traditional techniques of icon writing, including preparing a panel and building up delicate layers of egg tempera paint. Guided by both historical study and spiritual reflection, each participant will create a personal icon with special focus on the Virgin Mary, drawing inspiration from centuries of sacred imagery in honor of her Feast Day on August 15.

Whether you are new to iconography or seeking to deepen your practice, this class offers space for prayerful creativity, quiet reflection, and artistic growth. Students will be invited to explore the theological symbolism, visual language, and devotional power of icons, while developing the patience and presence that this sacred art form requires.

No previous experience is necessary—only a willingness to approach the process with reverence and care. All materials provided.
