Will I need to work outside of class?: Working outside class is not necessary. We will work on drawings during class and students can add color at their leisure.

Do I need experience to take this class?: Beginners welcome.

Minimum age of participant: 16

What can I expect to create?: Students will make 1-3 drawings each day in class. After class, they can create as many drawings and add color as they wish.

This course will explore geometric designs from all over the world. Join us as we learn to draw intricate motifs from Egypt, Byzantium, Syria, Ireland, and more using only a ruler and compass as our guides. As we draw we will discover how these motifs aid in our prayer and meditation and why the ancients used these design throughout their daily life.

Students will learn to draw designs and will be given ample time the rest of the day to explore more drawings or color in their designs as they please.

Elijah Turrell

Elijah Turrell is a Liturgical Artist from Seattle, WA. He hold an B.A. in Sociology from the University of Oklahoma and an M.A. in Traditional Arts from the University of Wales, School of Traditional Art.
