FSA Week 2 | Practicing Presence: Mark, Pause, Breathe
With Laurie Rudel and Adele Caemmerer
November 1 - 7, 2026
This week-long course is part of our annual Fall Sacred Arts (FSA) Program, beginning on Sunday, November 1st and ending on Saturday, November 7th. Class takes place Monday morning through Friday morning, with additional programming on Sunday and Saturday.
Join Laurie Rudel & Adele Caemmerer in an exploratory week of contemplative drawing exercises. This course invites us to slow down and experience the power of art as a form of active meditation. Together we will explore how basic art materials and simple steps can create an interior spaciousness and ground us in the present moment. Through guided practice and experimentation, students will develop a set of approaches for art-making in a contemplative way. Each day we will explore and practice meditative methods of art making using a variety of media.
