Family Camp
With Cypress Manning and Cristina Airaghi
June 30 - July 3, 2024
This exploratory Family Camp is designed for all ages and all levels of art experience. Participants will have the opportunity to explore three different art processes: zine making, screen printing, and mosaic.
Register your family for Grunewald Guild’s Family Camp! We welcome ages 5 and up to explore a variety of creative mediums with three spectacular teachers! All children must register and attend this camp with an adult, and all children under 12 must have an adult with them during classes and studio time.
This 3-night camp will give participants a chance to rotate through three different art classes, experiencing multiple artistic mediums through kid-friendly demonstrations and small projects.
With Cypress, Zine Making! In this class we will explore a multimedia approach to creating zines, which are small, easy to produce art booklets, through drawing, collage, and storytelling. We will learn different techniques for making zines, from small to large page size, and hand-stitched to stapled binding. At the end of this course, participants will leave with multiple zines they make, and will also get to photocopy and share one of their zines with others.
With Cristina, Easy-peezy Screen Printing! This course is an exploration of basic screen printing with water-based pigments on paper and fabric. We will learn to prepare screens through hand-cut stencils and drawing fluid methods.
Students will develop single or two colored prints for note cards or small posters. Option to print on fabric to create prayer flags.
There will also be ample time for families to enjoy the Guild’s campus, check out local hiking spots, go swimming in Lake Wenatchee, or walk into Plain for some ice cream.
