Cyber Studio 3-Day Intensive
With Adele Caemmerer and Kristen Gilje
August 8 - 10, 2023
From August 8 to August 10, we will gather daily online via Zoom from 9am-12pm Pacific.
Have a project you want to start or finish? Something you have always wanted to explore? Not sure what you want to do, but longing for the time and focus to figure it out? Just love creative company? This Cyberstudio experience might just be for you.
This special 3-day digital space is an excellent summer opportunity to participate in the Guild’s Cyber Studio program. Normally held weekly during the non-summer months, this consecutive 3-day summer opportunity might offer you space for a creative “jumpstart” during your busy summer season. If you’ve never tried the Guild’s weekly Cyber Studio program, this might be a chance to give it a try!
This intensive Cyberstudio will support your creative process in your own space with your own stuff, making it all the more likely to sustain. Each day we will meet on Zoom for both group and individual work time. All creative disciplines are welcome, however you define that. While there is no direct instruction, 1:1 support is available for ideas and direction as needed. Interspersed throughout the days will be opportunities to reflect on creative process, how we approach it, and what sustains it in our lives.
WHAT WILL THESE CYBER STUDIO SESSIONS LOOK LIKE?
Each session begins with participants sharing any goals and hopes for their art-making with the entire group. You will then move into one of two breakout rooms, each hosted by one of the hosts. Each group might choose to converse intermittently during the session, or you might all enjoy some focused quiet time (we’ll find our way, organically). Near the end of the session, we’ll gather back up as a large group to share our progress.
DO I HAVE TO SHOW UP FOR EVERY SESSION?
If you wish to participate in a session, please try to sign on promptly at 9am for check-ins and for breakout room assignments. If you are late, please email one of the hosts to let them know. You are welcome to have your video on or off. If you want to play music, please mute your microphone. Depending on the mood of the group, informal conversation may be part of our time together.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT TO CREATE?
That’s up to you! Chances are good, though, that you will create something since you’re doing it in community!
